Established in 2012, Tim Smyth Consulting assists clients in the health, government and social services sector across a broad spectrum of projects, from high level strategic overviews through to working with staff in a specific unit or service.
With degrees in medicine, law and business administration, Tim is an experienced senior executive and company director. He has had an extensive career across all facets of the NSW public sector health system. His career includes 6 years as Deputy Director-General in the NSW Ministry of Health and 8 years as a corporate and commercial law partner with DLA Phillips Fox (now DLA Piper).
Tim’s Directorships range across companies, agencies and institutes. He is a Director of the Black Dog Institute and was formerly a Director of the Australasian College of Health Service Management and Chair of the Western NSW Primary Health Network.
Tim has a diverse range of public and private sector clients, including health services, regulatory authorities and government agencies.
Using this extensive experience and diverse skills set, Tim develops strategies, undertakes complex service reviews, prepares issues papers and reports, facilitates workshops, negotiates agreements, investigates grievances and complaints and resolves disputes.
His extensive knowledge of government and the health environment, partnered with hands-on operational experience, ensures that he provides clients with pragmatic advice, easy to read reports and solutions that work.
